    People who think Muslims worship the same God Christians worship, should ask one of them. They will become furious and insist that they don't worship the same God we worship. I came to Orthodoxy to escape all the heresies, like pagan, Marxist universalism, solo scriptura, and prosperity gospel. No matter how many propagandists push universalism, when Christ returns, there will be a remnant who still believe, and faithfully worship the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Christ is King. Jesus will win in the end.

    It’s wild reading the histories of these theological disagreements. Like the patriarch of jerusalem refusing to excommunicate someone so then a mob of monks riot in the streets and the patriarch changes his mind. Or like bishops writing letters to the emperor to excommunicate a rival. It’s wild stuff.

    Call me a schismatic but it's so sad that Origen was anathematized. If only he could be seen as a saint in the same sense as St. Augustine. Deeply flawed but still a holy man.

    • @ahorton880
      @ahorton880 7 часов назад

      No, it's not tragic, nor is it unexpected. Origen is a thrice-condemned heretic. Sure he had some good writings, but his ideas are dangerous and spiritually destructive. The Holy Orthodox Church condemned him in multiple œcumenical councils. But by all means, if some among you following Ancient Faith seem to know more than the Church, and the council of the bishops in those councils led by the Holy Spirit, then do correct them.

    Our predisposition to death is evidence of our salvation. In other words, the fact that we will die assures our salvation since death was beaten on the Cross. Paul also spoke of this in Romans 5:18

    My sin got worse just after being born born again. I sent a note to a young girl. A note of encouragement I thought. But it upset her parents the police were called. I did a lot of praying and repenting. My Church appeared to shun me. Although they said they would support me. I left there and I think God Was calling me to walk the beautiful English countryside where he would answer may questions Jesus became my loving friend. I found my personal sin a difficult concept. But God gave me a beautiful marriage to a beautiful lady for eight years.We had a child. She left with him when he was a toddler. I went deeper with Jesus. Show me my sin I asked . But no I wasn't shown I love you as you are he said. I am preparing you for work I want you to do. I did many writings. Stories dramas diary about exploring faith. I wait on God to reveal his plan for me.The great crushing sense of sin I do not have. Just an awesome abiding love I feel that I have always felt. Can God send me to he'll with this love for him I have?

    This is such defeatist theology. I'm not suggesting that we as Christians will all be super rich and successful startup company founders. But, we are supposed to be in the the world, but not of the world. We are ambassadors of the Kingdom of Heaven. God places us in various walks of life, teachers, engineers, scientists, policemen, priests and preachers, even lawyers and government officials. That by our excellent work habits, our demeanor, our dependability, our kindness, our general wholesomeness, we will be a witness to others about God, without even saying a word at first. The Bible says whoever is in Christ, is a NEW CREATION. Jesus said, that unless you are BORN AGAIN, you cannot see the Kingdom of God. We have the mind of Christ. We are seating with God in Heavenly places. We are dearly beloved children of God. We are priests and kings to our God. Meditate on these things, which God says applies to us believers. So, why do we as Christians, who already are all those things above, fall back into sin patterns like we had before we came to Christ? Btw, only as a Christian can you really be miserable when you sin, since as an unbeliever, it's a normal practice. St Paul talks about the flesh is at war with the Spirit. What I want to do, I do NOT do. But what I do NOT want to do, that I do. What a miserable man am I! Who will save me from this body of sin? He goes on to say that there is NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Behold, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new. If you follow Christ, you are a new creation. You have been born again. However, just because you are a new creature, it doesn't mean that your "old habits = the flesh" has gone away. You have patterns of behavior you are used to doing. And it takes time and the Lord's help to overcome them. The Lord has promised a way of escape in all temptation. But if you entertain that temptation, then you will certainly fall into it. James 1:13-14 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 1 Corinthians 10:13 New King James Version 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to [a]bear it.

    We tend to anthropomorphize God and talk about Him as caring, loving, and forgiving, or sometimes also wrathful. We use all those adjectives that we describe humans with, also to describe God. The idea of God having desires or issuing commands is as well an anthropomorphic misunderstanding. The stories in the Bible are written by humans, so they contain human biases and limitations. The writers try to explain God's rules with human language, logic, and morals so that it makes sense to the reader and themselves. But because God is eternal, all-powerful, and not limited by any natural laws, He is indifferent about us as He, in a way, is those natural laws He created which are as well indifferent about us. So "Good" and "evil" are not absolute concepts decreed by God. Instead, they are relative terms that humans use to describe what is beneficial or harmful to them. That does not mean that it doesn't matter if we do evil or good, because it clearly does, as our actions as free men and women have an effect on our lives and the society we live in. It just means that God Himself is indifferent about human decisions and suffering. This perspective extends to other religious concepts as well. Heaven and hell can be seen rather symbolically and not as literal locations. 'Heaven' might represent a state of intellectual and emotional fulfillment, achieved through understanding the nature of reality, while 'Hell' could symbolize a state of confusion, ignorance, or bondage to passions and inadequate ideas, that leads to suffering in oneself or others. Furthermore, if we consider God as the totality of natural laws and the universe itself, then God's 'plan' was already fulfilled at the moment of creation. The universe, including humanity with their free will, simply unfolds according to these established natural laws. Our existence and experiences are the result of complex interactions within this system, rather than the product of continual divine intervention or planning.

    When Jesus asked the apostles, who do the people say that I am and then he asked them? Who do you say that I am Peter said you are the son of God, the Messiah, and Jesus said to him flesh and blood has not shown you this or revealed it to you But my father, I believe this is what the Holy Spirit does that’s why in scripture later we were told to test the spirits. Meaning there are good and bad ones and if we work on our relationship with God, we will know the difference and Paul Even said seek the gifts of the Holy Spirit that never changed. We are to seek what God has for us to do while we are here and these gifts are listed in scripture.

    I don't want to let go of the world. I don't want to know how terrible I am. I don't want to fail in everything I try to do. I don't want to be rejected by people anymore. I think it's easy to intellectually accept, but when it's actually happening, you often think maybe you've bitten off more than you can chew and maybe you should find another way because this way seems very disastrous. At this stage... I've been a Christian more or less for 12 years, and I'm feeling like I'm closer to Satan than Christ. Not like I want to be... but some of my backslides have been quite severe. I've come close to total apostasy several times. It's not that I don't believe. It's just that I don't like what I am having to go through and my mind keeps looking for an easy way out. If I just push a little harder at this other thing I'm trying to be invested in, maybe it'll break through and establish something and I won't have to be miserable anymore. Realistically, even if you ignored the spiritual, 90+ percent of the world lives in poverty and obscurity... so it's not as though something uncommon is happening to me. Perhaps that's why it's so hard for people to understand Christianity in the West. We're so used to being guaranteed a way to live well, and to not having to do much relatively speaking to get there. We have too much opportunity... or at least the illusion of it. In the end, I have thoroughly debunked all of my objections intellectually, but the emotional pull away is still strong... and I don't like that, either. I know God is Good... which just makes it all the more painful. How could I reject God's goodness after I know it's better than absolutely anything else? I think that's worse than any other obscene thought which arises because of the state of rejection.

No family, no friends, no love life, no children..I only sin because drugs make me numb and I dont think as much..I prayed to Jesus to send into my life a christian woman, but it didnt work...well, maybe im destined to die alone, im ok with that...thats why from time to time I must take drugs..I regret it, and repent, and BEG Jesus for my death, because I dont want this human body. If in this decade nothing will happen regarding end times, and I will be still alone,still alive, I will have to do my personal "end time" and end my life by suicide..So God Jesus Christ, if this centrury is not the time u are coming back, please PLEASE give me some sort of accident, cancer, overdose - whatever...i Just dont want to be me anymore

    Hebrew word Nephilim means more than we understand the word Giant, it means those that 'fall upon others', tyrants. These Nephilim were famous in that world and they made a great name for themselves, through their acts of violence, lawlessness and corruption. They were known by all (Nero, Genghis Khan, Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Bushes, Bill Clinton, etc). There are Giants/Nephilim in the world today, they are the men who rule this world and hold their councils in secret.
